Everyone at Oak Meadow Primary School is delighted to have received the award of ‘Income Innovator of the Year’ from the National School Awards 2019.
The award was presented as part of a prestigious ceremony at the NEC in Birmingham. Schools from across the country gathered following an extensive shortlisting process that had already seen Oak Meadow earn a place in the top three nominees nationwide.
The award was accepted on behalf of the school by the leadership team who dedicated the accolade to the ‘Oak Meadow Family’.
The judging panel recognised the innovative approach the school had taken as part of the ‘A Million Dreams…’ project and the outstanding difference this had made to the children and community.
Oak Meadow was commended for how the school had utilised this event to generate additional income that was then directly spent on the children and enhancing future learning opportunities.
The judging panel also remarked on how raising pupils’ aspirations through such a bespoke event and then gifting the artwork back to the children on the condition they follow their dreams for the future was instrumental in their final decision.
We are so proud of our outstanding children. This award shows that the aspirational message painted by ‘A Million Dreams…’ is true. With collaboration, creativity, determination, dedication and resilience anything is possible.
Thank you to everyone associated with our wonderful school for your hard work and the contributions you have made in realising this accolade. The national award of ‘Income Innovator of the Year’ belongs to all of you.
