Maths in Year 2

As part of this term's learning in Year 2, children have had the opportunity to apply their skills of addition and subtraction using numbers up to 100. Children have been able to apply their known number facts to allow them to use the most efficient method of solving problems. For example, if children know 9+1=10, they also know that 90+10=100. Children have also used resources to share their understanding of place value to add and subtract 10s and 1s.

Resources to use at home:

The ‘White Rose’ fluency app is a great way for children to practice their maths recall. This is a free app that can be used on smart phones and iPads.
