Year 3 Maths

Year 3 have been working hard at our maths during this autumn term! We spent the first part of the term consolidating our place value knowledge, beginning to work more confidently with numbers up to 1000.

We are now moving on to develop our knowledge of addition and subtraction, starting with mental methods using our understanding of number facts, before moving on to look at some tricky work crossing 10s and 100s, as well as formal written methods.

We’ve been using concrete resources as well as electronic resources on our Padlet to help our learning. We’re practising our multiplication tables using TT Rockstars at every chance we get, as well as our number bonds to 100 as part of our arithmetic sessions.
